Student & Faculty Chapter Idea Fair

Student Networking Etiquette Dinner

Winner

Johnson & Wales University, NC, Student Chapter

Description

The Student Networking Etiquette Dinner enhanced Johnson & Wales University Charlotte CMAA chapter operations by providing an engaging experience that allowed students to network and prepare them for business meals. By hosting this event, students were able to learn the proper etiquette to use when at a formal job meal and network throughout the dinner with industry professionals. This event also provided opportunities to obtain professional positions post graduation.

Implementation

This idea was implemented during Johnson & Wales University Charlotte yearly Job Fair and could have not been successful without the university's Experiential Education Office. Since this event was hosted during the Job Fair, employers could also register for this event and interact with students in a more intimate setting. The chapter member's reactions were positive due to introducing a new event to campus. With the success from the first Student Networking Etiquette Dinner, we hope to host many more.
