There are couple of ideas to welcome new student members to CMAA. Using multiple strategies for new member onboarding & engagement has several benefits. It helps to keep new students prepare, engaged and understand the private club industry more.

Implementation

Welcome new CMAA student members to the Orientation Session. At this session the new members can meet faculty advisors and current CMAA student officers. This helps the new members get connected and understand what the club is about. Orientation is an important intervention service that can help new students to acclimate and make a more successful transition.

Introduce social media to new CMAA student members to keep up with the CMAA student community such as Instagram, Linkedin, and Facebook. Social media served as a multifaceted tool encompassing communication, information sharing, and networking.

Host Involvement Network Event for new members to meet with private club professionals and current CMAA student members. This event can helps the new student members get connected with club professionals, prepare for job interviews and learn more about the private clubs industry.

Create a mentorship program for new student members. The new members will get to partner up with a current CMAA officers or senior current members (1 to 1). This gets them connected with people who have already networked in the industry. The close relationship between a mentor and a mentee can be a source of confidence. They will have accumulated a network of connections. This program could also help with retention rate.
