This year’s event brought together hospitality students from across the country for an inspiring, educational, and energizing experience, and we couldn’t be prouder of the engagement and excitement you brought to every session.
From powerful keynote sessions to thought-provoking discussions, the conference was packed with valuable insights and takeaways.
- Aaron Golub kicked things off with a motivational message on resilience and redefining success.
- Our “Why Choose Clubs?” panel opened it all with honest, inspiring conversations about why a career in the private club industry is so rewarding.
- Rider Harris led an eye-opening session on the many ways AI is transforming hospitality from streamlining operations to enhancing guest experiences—keeping students engaged and eager to explore its real-world applications.
- Students gained valuable insight into the diverse world of club management during “A Day in the Life: Inside Different Club Types” with Mitchell Platt, MCM, CCE—exploring which environments best fit their own culture and uncovering the unique dynamics that make each club distinct.
- Our closing session ended with an energetic presentation led by Elisha Cicerone, CCM. The F&B Excellence session celebrates the creativity and leadership that make food, beverage, and service the heartbeat of every great club experience.
Beyond the sessions, NSEC was all about connection—meeting peers from other schools, engaging with club professionals, and building relationships that will last well beyond the conference.

Student Chapter Best Practices: Creating a Succession Plan
A strong student chapter ensures leadership transitions smoothly, maintaining momentum year after year. A well-crafted succession plan helps pass the torch from upperclassmen to underclassmen, keeping the chapter active and engaged.
Why It's Important
- Continuity: A succession plan ensures the chapter stays active when seniors graduate.
- Skill Development: Underclassmen gain valuable leadership experience early.
- Engagement: Consistent leadership fosters ongoing member involvement.
- Future Leaders: It builds a strong pipeline of leaders for years to come.
Steps to Create a Succession Plan
- Identify Future Leaders Early: Look for underclassmen who show leadership potential and engagement.
- Create a Mentorship System: Pair seniors with underclassmen, allowing for knowledge sharing and guidance.
- Allow Shadowing Opportunities: Have underclassmen shadow current board members to learn about leadership roles.
- Encourage Committee Involvement: Get underclassmen involved in committees to gain experience before assuming leadership roles.
- Develop a Transition Timeline: Start the transition process at least one semester before graduation to ensure ample training time.
- Document Key Processes: Create a resource library with event plans, responsibilities, and important contacts to guide future leaders.
By establishing a clear succession plan, your student chapter will continue to thrive, with new leaders ready to take on the next challenge!
