Golf Facilities

  • 27 hole course, par 72, designed by Tom Fazio and Davis Love III
The Valley Club's 27 holes are comprised of the West Nine (2006) designed by Tom Fazio and the North and South Nines (2020) recently redesigned by Davis Love III.

Eight courts total with four courts domed with an air structure for winter play.

From Memorial Day to Labor Day the Club offers its members a saline family pool, a four lane saline lap pool and a spa pool.

Our year round fitness center offer a first class strength and cardio facility. Our Fitness Clubhouse also features well appointed adult men's and women's locker rooms, as well as family locker room for children.

Regular dining services are available to our membership May through October. Special events are scheduled throughout the year for those members that live here year round. December is especially popular as many of our members return for the holidays.

Special Club Features

Founded in 1996, the Valley Club has become know as one of the finest clubs in the Northwest.  Located in the Wood River Valley, this area was first made famous by the Sun Valley Resort.  This is truly an outdoor paradise, boasting miles of trails and rivers with some of the best fishing in the world, all centered around the world renowned Bald Mountain ski area.  Though this is a small community, it is rich in history and sophisticated in its appreciation of the arts and entertainment.  Once a sleepy ski town, you will often hear our members say, "we came for the winters...but stayed for the summers".  The Valley Club is a reflection of the community and its culture.  This is mountain golf at its best, complimented with amazing dining and year round fitness and tennis.

Club is open 7 days per week, 7 months per year.

Assistant Clubhouse Manager

Brief Job Description

The Valley Club is seeking a hospitality focused leader to serve as an Assistant Clubhouse Manager. Our ideal candidate must be personable, professional, and friendly. Someone that takes pride in building long lasting member relationships and possesses the ability to develop team members in a positive atmosphere and train them on exceptional steps of service.

The standards of appearance, hospitality, service, and cleanliness are paramount. The qualified candidate must be honest, respectful, dedicated, ethical, caring, have a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. This individual will be an integral part of the front of the house management team and will answer directly to the Clubhouse Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a pleasant dining experience by all members and guests
  • Manage service aspects of the food and beverage operation by training, developing, and supervising all front-of-the-house staff in standards of quality and service
  • Input and maintain sales items and banquet event orders through Northstar POS system
  • Manage dining room and event operations to ensure proper room preparation, including set up of tables, chairs, linens, table settings, and glassware
  • Conduct pre-shift/event meetings, confirming all service staff are in proper uniform and adhere to appearance standards
  • Communicate with service and kitchen staff regarding reservations and/or special events
  • Assist with recruiting, selecting, hiring, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, evaluating, supervising performance, and carrying out disciplinary action as needed, in accordance with policies and applicable laws
  • Control costs of food and beverage operation by assisting management in: purchasing of beverages, supplies and equipment; maintaining effective profit and loss controls; utilizing labor scheduling to adjust schedules to following demand patterns, tracking expenses including payroll, supplies and maintenance; generating monthly inventory report, cost of sales report and other reports as requested by management
  • Maximize food and beverage sales by identifying and targeting sales opportunities through marketing including promotions and special events
  • Protect the organization, the members and guests by training staff in and adhering to all safety, sanitation, food preparation, food storage and alcohol beverage control policies
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by handling customer inquiries, concerns or comments and providing solutions; acquiring feedback from customers and co-workers in order to ensure satisfaction and/or implement service improvement ideas; developing new concepts to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business
  • The primary duty is management. However, the Asst. Clubhouse Manager is a working manager and will be required to fill in as bartender, server, host, etc. as needed
  • Collaborate with the Clubhouse Manager and the Chief Operating Officer in the delivery of staff and safety meetings, as well as the resolution of issues regarding product, equipment, or personnel
  • Be aware of all club events, large parties and reservations that may affect the food and beverage operation
  • Maintain knowledge of local competition and industry trends

Candidate Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • A four-year degree in Hospitality Management or related field or an equivalent number of years of experience in a similar position within the golf/hospitality/service industry
  • Must have a hands-on, lead by example management style
  • Must possess wine and alcohol beverage knowledge
  • Fine Dining or private club experience a plus
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Very detailed oriented
  • Experience in resolving customer issues/complaints
  • Serve Safe certification required within 90 days of employment
  • Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience programming POS software
  • Solid time management, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Proven ability to effectively build and foster a team environment
  • Ability to make decisions, remain calm and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment
