Brief Job Description
- Promote club's dining facilities for private banquets, business and social meetings and other member-related activities. Assure that the member's and guest's expectations are exceeded.
- Develops and executes with culinary team, club social events, golf and tennis events.
- Assists members with arrangements and planning member events.
- Works with the GM and Chef to determine selling process, menus and other details for catered events and daily food service.
- Assists with scheduling staff.
- Greets and seats members and guests during all events and dining.
- Assembles table reservations and takes reservations as needed
- Assures the correct appearance, cleanliness and safety of clubhouse, pool cabana, dining room areas, equipment and facilities. Checks the maintenance of all equipment in the dining room and reports deficiencies and maintenance concerns.
- Oversees the development of contracts and ensures that pre-planned banquet menu offerings are current and reflect general clientele's interests.
- Hands on execution of banquets, luncheons, meetings and weddings. Supervises daily member and guest dining.
- Maintain and update club web site with pertinent information in a timely fashion.
- Performs other duties as assigned and/or as specified.
- Assumes closing manager duty and Manager on Duty (MOD) when required.
Candidate Qualifications
Bedens Brook is seeking a career oriented individual who is a self-starter to join our management team in a supervisory role at the club. This position will offer the individual an excellent work/life balance. Position requires one to wear many hats, providing service to many different areas of the Club. Must possess an enthusiastic and positive approach to handling challenging situations. Applicants should also possess strong interpersonal, leadership, written and verbal skills. Must show a track record of providing first class service with a passion focused on continuous improvement and setting/meeting higher membership expectations
Candidates should have prior Club, restaurant or catering experience, as well as some experience managing and training a service staff. The ability to work and serve quickly, under pressure, is valued highly. Excellent verbal and people skills are essential to success. In a service culture, this position will require the consummate professional, one with a tremendous eye for detail, an overriding sense and appreciation for quality and an extremely strong work ethic.
The position demands creativity on a daily basis, excellent communication skills, professional appearance/dress and the ability to maintain the highest hospitality standards. Strong computer skills are a must, including skills in Microsoft Office applications.
Available to work days, weekends and evening hours, plus holidays.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree, Culinary Degree, or equivalent Hospitality experience. Licenses and Special Requirements- TIPS or Food safety certification.
