Saucon Valley Country Club, founded in 1920, lies nestled in the Lehigh Valley one hour north of Philadelphia and slightly more than one hour west of New York City. 

Saucon Valley Country Club is a beautiful and unique club retreat spanning 850 acres, offering exceptional recreation and social experiences with an emphasis on golf.  Sixty holes of golf with three championship courses, a six-hole Short Course for use by juniors and novice golfers, ten indoor and outdoor dining venues, four swimming pools, an outstanding racquets and fitness facility, and a thirteen bedroom 18th Century Guest House, all ensure our members have a variety of year-round recreational options from which to choose.  In fact, LINKS Magazine named Saucon one of the top 100 most prestigious private clubs in the world.

Saucon Valley Country Club is a picturesque private club retreat offering a myriad of exceptional recreational and social experiences with an emphasis on golf. Three 18-hole championship golf courses provide unique and varied play, while a six-hole course introduces the novice. Seven dining venues and nine banquet venues deliver the most diverse culinary experience in and beyond the Lehigh Valley. The outstanding racquets and fitness programming, and 18th century Guest House, further enhance the exceptional member experience. Cool off during the summer months in the four swimming pools the entire family will enjoy. Founded in 1920 by 16 business leaders from Bethlehem Steel, the Club has evolved gracefully over the past 100 years and today encompasses 850 acres that serve as a timeless retreat from the everyday hustle and bustle where families enjoy new experiences and create memories.

The Director of Events desires to be a part of a dynamic leadership team who is striving for continual growth and development. The ideal candidate is creative and dynamic, who will have the opportunity to develop and form a team. They will be a thought partner with Chef to develop creative ideas for menus, concepts and new experiences for the membership.  While driving revenue, the Director must have the Ability to manage a budget, market basket comparisons, set event pricing based on P&L management. 

Candidate Qualifications

  • Two plus years in a proven leadership role
  • Four years of event management experience
  • Knowledge of catering software, such as NorthStar, Reserve, Delphi, or Caterese is a plus
  • Strong administrative and computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: emphasis on Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; ability to prioritize and organize
  • Active participation in professional organization for catering professionals a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Oversee and implement banquet and catering service and setup
  • Assists with banquet management team

 

Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • College degree in hospitality a plus
