The 2017 CMAA Mid-Management Conference will take place from October 1-4, 2017 in Minneapolis, MN. Attendees will have the opportunity to earn up to 17 CMI credits along with four Association Activity credits for registering for the Conference. The two CMAA Certification Competency Areas that will be covered during MMC are Golf, Sports & Recreation Management and Leadership. One of the Leadership days will give attendees an opportunity to network with members of the Upper Midwest Chapter as the sessions will be held in cooperation with the chapter.

CMAA University logo - 100wCMAA University is enhancing the Micro Learning (bite-size education) library to bring all CMAA members fresh content that is available for complimentary CMI credits. But the library and the number of credits are only as strong as the managers who contribute. Contributors can boast educating other managers while earning one CMI credit. Interested in contributing? Create a 10 - 20 minute PowerPoint presentation on a topic managers can use to apply to their daily club lives, please email cmaauniversity@cmaa.org.

Renew Your CMAA Membership
You will be receiving your first 2018 membership renewal notice in the mail any day now. Payment is due no later than October 31, 2017 (the date on which your membership card expires). Please consider an early payment to avoid additional notices and/or any late fees that may be assessed.

Please be sure to verify your personal, club and chapter information as it reads on your renewal notice. The information printed on the form is what we have on record for you at National Headquarters. If any changes need to be made, please include them along with your renewal payment.

Save time and renew online with your credit card or eCheck. Additionally, CMAA offers an eight-month payment option for membership renewals (November -June, will include a premium).  You can access either of these payment options at www.cmaa.org/renew.

As a mentor and role model, Sally Burns Rambo, CCM, was a pioneer who paved the way for the success of countless club industry leaders. To honor her memory and the legacy she created, the Sally Burns Rambo Scholarship provides financial support to female club managers interested in furthering their professional development. This scholarship may be used for the tuition cost of one Business Management Institute course or the Certification Review Course and up to $1,000 in travel expenses. Candidates must be a female currently working in the club industry, a current member of CMAA, and must have been a Professional member of CMAA for a minimum of three years.

The National Alliance for Accessible Golf Offers Accessibility Resources for Clubs and Courses
The National Alliance for Accessible Golf (Alliance) is the leader in inclusion— working to ensure the opportunity for all individuals with disabilities to play the game of golf. Through its resources, clubs and courses can work to make their operations more accessible to individuals with disabilities while meeting and exceeding member expectations for members, guests and potential members.
Get started with the Alliance’s Toolkit for Owners/Operators. It provides guidance to owners and operators seeking ways to make their golf facility more accessible to golfers with disabilities. Further, the Alliance hosts search engine to assist individuals with disabilities in locating accessible golf facilities within their local area. Is your facility listed? Participate in CMAA’s Recruiting Hourly Employees Survey
Participate now in the Recruiting Hourly Employees survey and help us collect information about the ways clubs recruit hourly employees in an effort to examine common challenge areas and provide both club and other industry best practices.

This is CMAA’s second Industry Survey, which provides regular and ongoing research on relevant topical and operational research findings to CMAA members, boards and interested publics.

RSM Releases 2017-2018 Trends in Private Clubs Report
CMAA Corporate Alliance Partner RSM – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – recently released its 2017-2018 edition of Trends in Private Clubs. This is the firm's 43rd annual report on the financial and operational trends in private clubs throughout Florida, the state with the highest concentration of clubs.

Unlike surveys, this annual report highlights trends uncovered through more than 200 private club clients RSM audited in Florida during the last fiscal year (for year-ends through December 31, 2016). Findings are presented from statewide and regional perspectives, and are segmented by types of clubs, as well as key comparisons from the previous year. Read more.
