Regardless, what I have seen over the past five months is that CMAA members have been putting aside their own weariness and rising to the occasion day after day to ensure their members are having the best possible club experience. Join us for the 2020 Virtual Leadership/Legislative Conference, September 9-10, and get ready for a new experience, with no travel required. This event will keep you current and pivoting like the challenges of 2020 demand with content benefiting all CMAA members. 

Beyond keynote speakers Business Performance Expert Ryan Estis and Political Analysts David Wasserman, other interactive sessions will include CMAA’s Business Session with the 2021 Board Candidate presentations, Communications and Marketing, Building Your Membership & Chapter Brand/Value, and a Tax and Private Club Update

Breaks will feature a Coaching Gym with CMAA’s Coach Kevin Macdonald; Chair Yoga, designed for any fitness level; a virtual tour of CMAA National Headquarters; and a Trends Update on recently released research of private club member attitudes post-COVID-19 from GGA Partners

Whether we are meeting in person or digitally, the Idea Fair for Chapters is a must see as Chapters share their innovative operational and programming ideas. New this year, winning Chapters will have an opportunity to present their ideas during the Virtual Idea Fair for Chapters Winner Showcase on Thursday, September 10. Impact of the Presidential Executive Orders on Employee Payroll Tax Relief and Unemployment
On Saturday, August 8, President Trump issued four executive orders (EO). Two of the four have specific implications for clubs and individuals working in the club industry. Read more about the employee payroll tax deferment and enhancement unemployment in the Legislative Report.

Exceptions for Visa Program Freeze Announced
The Department of State has issued national interest exceptions for the June Executive Order which suspended most visa programs through December 31. Specific to H-2B visas, the exception allows for individual applicants “for whom travel is necessary to facilitate the immediate and continued economic recovery of the United States.” Read more in the Legislative Report.
