2023 Secretary–Treasurer

Richard L. LaRocca, CCM, CCE

Richard L. LaRocca, CCM (Certified Club Manager), CCE (Certified Chief Executive), was installed as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Club Management Association of America (CMAA) Board of Directors at its 2023 World Conference and Club Business Expo, held in Orlando, FL. LaRocca was elected by the CMAA Board of Directors at its 2022 spring meeting. He was first elected to the Board of Directors in 2018.

LaRocca is a Youngstown, OH, native and a graduate of Youngstown State University. He currently serves as the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer at St. Clair Country Club. Prior to that appointment, he served as the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer at Beechmont Country Club from 2019 to 2023, The Country Club of Orlando from 2013 to 2019, and The Kirtland Country Club in Willoughby, OH, from 2003 to 2013. From 1990 to 2003, he was the General Manager/Assistant Secretary of Allegheny Country Club in Sewickley, PA.

LaRocca first joined CMAA in 1986. He earned his CCM designation in 1997 and achieved his CCE designation in 2008. In 2017, LaRocca had the distinction of being named the Club Executive of the Year by Club Management magazine.

He has volunteered on many national committees including the Professional Development, Long-Range Planning, Technology, and Conference Committees. In 2022, he led the Corporate Relations Committee. For 2023, he will chair the Audit and Budget & Finance Committees.

On the chapter level, LaRocca has been active in multiple CMAA Chapters including Pittsburgh, Florida, and Greater Cleveland.

As CMAA Secretary-Treasurer, LaRocca will work with the Board of Directors to collaborate with the membership, National Committees and Task Forces, Partners, and the National Headquarters team, to advance the club management profession and the greater industry.
