Verified Internship Program Criteria At-A-Glance

VIP LogoCMAA’s Verified Internship Program (VIP) gives clubs an opportunity to introduce the world of club management to hospitality students. Internships also bring real value to our industry. Programs like the VIP help strengthen the talent pipeline, ensuring a vibrant future for club leadership. And along the way, interns often bring fresh ideas and perspectives—creating a mutually enriching learning experience for everyone involved.

    • Applying club must have at least one current CMAA member.

    • Fill out the VIP Application. Provide the name and contact email for Supervisor(s).

    • Provide the name and contact email for Intern(s) when they are available.

    • Provide at least 300 hours of time worked, including education, and it must be a paid internship.

    • Providing a minimum of 10 hours of structured education for each intern. This can include Chapter events.

    • Supervisors agree to fill out an evaluation form mid-way through the season and at the end-of-season.

    • Post your internship on CMAA’s Internship Job Board. The VIP icon is added for participating clubs.

    • Adherence to these policies helps manage the expectations of students, faculty, and managers in the club.
