Special Club Features

Riverside Yacht Club is a family-oriented, neighborhood club that is busiest in the summer.  In addition to á la carte dining, members enjoy the benefits of a full marina, pool, beach, tennis courts, and a wide range of special events hosted throughout the summer season.       Highlights for the 2021 season will include the 30th Annual Crab Fest and Long Island Sound Championship Regatta.  

RYC maintained its internships and club programs during 2020 and expects to have a full 2021 summer season of activies, following all state restrictions that may be in place.

Brief Job Description

The Special Events Internship at Riverside Yacht Club will provide an intern with the opportunity to plan, set-up, and execute a wide variety of events, including weddings, regattas, club events, and junior activities.  The intern will work alongside the Clubhouse Manager and Assistant Dining Room Manager on all aspects of planning and executing small and large events, and will also have the opportunity to manage events during the summer season.  On occasions when there are not events taking place, the intern will work alongside the staff in the dining rooms.

There will also be a series of club tours and informal weekly seminars to further enhance the internship.

Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a team player, motivated, organized, and creative.  Candidates should have completed at least one internship in food and beverage or special events.  Prior experience in a private club is considered a strength, but not required.
