Bicentennial of Our Historic Building

Description

To commemorate the 200th anniversary of our landmarked Clubhouse after a year of renovations, we celebrated the re-opening in "Great Gatsby" style. Celebrating the historical significance of our Clubhouse has instilled a greater sense of pride that was always there, just not at the forefront. Members were encouraged to explore and tour the entire Clubhouse. Floorplans were distributed to Members as all 17,000 sq feet of the building was used as well as the front porch and lawn for the cocktail hour. Each room of the mansion had something unique, whether it was the speakeasy or the professional movie props that were rented to create photo opportunities.

Implementation

A committee was formed by our entertainment chair. Working together with management, many meetings and discussions were held to utilize and showcase the 200 year old building. Lighting, entertainment, specialty cocktails and food selection were all carefully chosen to fit the theme. Club Members raved about the evening and suggested "we should celebrate like this every year".
