Building Community Partnerships: Midland School

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Fiddler's has created a strong partnership with the Midland School. Community partnerships have developed the Fiddler's workforce by offering opportunities to individuals with developmental disabilities within the community. Jobs that pose greater recruitment challenges, such as Towel Attendant and Dishwasher, provide great opportunities for the Midland student population. Through Midland's school-to-work transition program, our Towel Attendants, Amy and Ryan, have gained work experience folding laundry. With the assistance of their dedicated job coaches, their transition into the Fiddler's work environment proved to be a great success. At the end of the season, we received thank you letters from Amy and Ryan's job coaches that read, "Thank you for the opportunity for Amy and Ryan to be a part of the Fiddler's team! They loved coming to work every day and their abilities and confidence steadily progressed over the last few months. It was a privilege to teach and support them in their employment! Many thanks to you and the pool staff for making us feel so welcomed for the duration of our time there!"
