Idea Fair

Pumpkin Patch

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Pumpkin Patch is an annual event we host the week before Halloween. In addition to selling Pumpkins and fall themed food and beverage we also have other activities including hayrides, ring toss, moon bounce, and an adrenaline rush obstacle course. While considered a loss leader, it is considered to be a popular event with our members and guests.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

We are one club with two locations and this event is held at our Fairfax location which a much smaller facility with limited space for large events. We created the Pumpkin Patch event several years ago during the pandemic when everyone was seeking outside family activities. Our clubhouse is considered golf centric, by adding this event to the calendar we have created another annual opportunity for members and guests to participate in a fun filled afternoon enjoying the fall season with seasonally themed food, beverage, and activities. Our attendance at this event has grown year after year, and the members’ feedback has been very positive.
