Streamlining the Purchasing Process

Description

The Grill switched to bulk purchasing of paper products.
As a result, the Grill has reduced:

  • The number of paper deliveries / trips that the purchasing team needs to make
  • The amount of time needed for managers to order and reconcile purchases on a daily basis

Implementation

Based on our annual paper goods purchases:

  • We identified the items that we used the most
  • We broke this usage down to the average monthly amount
  • We carved out a storage area with shelving and labeling
  • We initiated a plan of ordering those items in bulk on a monthly basis
