The Bull Desert Oasis

Description

Our annual Member/Guest Tournament is one of the most anticipated events of the year for our members. In 2019, we came up with a cohesive theme for the M/G party, changed the layout and flow of our spaces, and incorporated fun features for our members to enjoy.

Implementation

Our Member/Guest Tournament, aka The Bull, has a distinct bull logo. We decided to use that as our inspiration for Southwestern Desert themed décor. Linens in golds and oranges mixed with macramé touches and fur throws warmed up our neutral palette ballroom. Cacti and longhorn centerpieces and accents, with a tumbleweed and rope chandelier added to the clubhouse transformation.

Typically our ballroom is setup in a wide orientation, which causes the dance floor to split the members on either side. In 2019 we opted to setup our party with the dance floor and stage tucked to one side of the room, bringing together all the lounge seating and dining tables for our members. This allowed us to accommodate three impressively large bars opposed to the typical 5 or 6 smaller bars placed throughout the house. (Bonus: It made keeping bars stocked easier on our bar backs!)

Finally, with the addition of rental furniture for cozy lounge areas and an LED light dance floor that went from displaying the tournament logo to flashing light patterns, the members were pleasantly surprised with how their club could be transformed.
