Vaccinations

The University Club’s highest priority is to protect the health of members, guests, and employees and make the Clubhouse a safe place to visit. Since August 2021 they have been a fully vaccinated facility, with only limited exceptions.

The University Club's current COVID-19 protocols are as follows:

• The Club House Committee has suspended the need for guests to show proof of vaccination. Barring a major change in COVID, it will remain. However, in the very unlikely occurrence that it would be reinstituted, they would accept cards or digital verification. They accepted all CDC and WHO vaccines.
• Wearing a mask in the Clubhouse is optional.

Dress Code

Please be advised of The University Club's dress code which is in effect at all times. Gentleman members and guests are required to wear jackets and dress shirts. Ties are recommended, but not required, except for dinner in the Main Dining Room. Jackets are not required on the 10th Floor Terrace. Ascots and cravats when worn as such are a suitable replacement for ties. 

Lady members and guests are required to wear clothing meeting similar standards; specifically, tailored clothing that otherwise conforms to this Rule, e.g. suits, dresses, or skirts and dress shirts or sweaters, or tailored pants with dress shirts and jackets, elegant sweaters or scarves of equivalent formality. Tailored pants paired with tailored/beaded tops may be worn without a jacket, sweater or scarf.

The following clothing is prohibited in the Clubhouse: jeans and other denim apparel, leisurewear of any type, Capri, and cargo pants, rompers, shorts, leggings, T-shirts, sportswear and bare midriff tops, mini-skirts, athletic clothing, beach or thong sandals, and sneakers or other athletic shoes. Members and guests traveling to or from an athletic facility, the 10th Floor Terrace, or guest rooms may pass through the lobby, to and from the elevator and the front door, wearing informal dress that includes no prohibited items.

Cellular Phones

Cellular phones and all other digital devices must remain silent and may not be used in any of the public areas of the Clubhouse, such as the Atrium, Douglas Reading Room, dining rooms, corridors, athletic facilities, and restrooms. The conduct of business meetings, display of business papers or any meeting where the discussion becomes disturbing to others are also prohibited in public areas of the Clubhouse. Private rooms are available by reservation.

Cellular phones and other digital devices may be used for making and/or receiving phone calls and electronic messages in private rooms and in the telephone, booths located throughout the Club—most of which provide adequate reception for these devices. In addition, many of the Club's house phones may be used without charge for outgoing local calls, including most calls to local cellular exchanges. Please keep usage brief and be considerate of others seeking to use the booths.

Digital devices and laptop computers may be used silently in the Library and in private rooms or other areas of the Clubhouse that may be designated for such use by the House Committee.

Clubhouse Rules

Please be advised of The University Club's dress code which is in effect at all times. Male members and guests are required to wear jackets and ties. Female members and guests are required to wear clothing of equivalent formality. Jeans, sneakers and shorts are not considered appropriate attire.

Parking

Reduced rate parking is available at the ABM parking garage located at 17 East 54^th Street between Fifth & Madison Avenues. Guests must get their parking stub validated at the Club’s front desk to receive a discount.

House Rules

The Yale Club’s House Rules are designed to create an atmosphere of decorum and civility. The Yale Club of New York City strives to provide a haven where Members can relax and socialize. While the House Rules provide some clear policies, all Members are also asked to exercise good judgment, tact, and etiquette at all times while using and interacting with the Club.

Hours of Operation

The House will be open seven days a week from 6:00 am to midnight. After midnight, only registered room guests will be admitted. Members will be issued identification cards and are expected to display them when entering the House or upon request. Upon resignation or termination of membership, your membership card will be deactivated.

Outside Food & Beverage

Neither food nor beverage may be brought into the House for consumption in a public area or the locker rooms.

Smoking

Smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is prohibited throughout the Clubhouse.

Dress Code

The House Committee requests that all Members and guests observe the following dress requirements. Club employees have been instructed to call attention to violations and to request that the Member conform to the rules. Members who refuse to remedy a violation may be escorted from the House and referred to the House Committee for disciplinary action.

Traditional business attire or business casual dress, as defined below, is required in all public rooms except for the athletic facilities at all times. At all times a reasonable standard of neatness should be observed.

Business casual dress includes collared shirts, blouses, turtlenecks, sweaters, dress slacks, khakis, corduroy trousers, skirts, or dresses.

Denim: neat, clean, and in good repair (no holes, rips, or tears)–is permitted in the Library, Grill Room, Roof Dining Room, and on the weekends throughout the Clubhouse. All other above restrictions apply.

Not permitted are: shorts, tee shirts, casual sandals, athletic wear of any kind (including sweat pants, caps, and team jerseys), and torn, provocative or revealing clothing.

Electronic Devices

To ensure the enjoyment of the Club by all, the use of electronic devices in the House should conform to the following:

All registration cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing by the individual whose name appears on the registration. To be valid, submit all requests to CMAA Registration. CMAA regrets that refunds will not be given for no-shows. Substitutions are gladly accepted; substitutions of registrations are permitted prior to the event. Only one substitution is permitted per original registrant. The individual submitting the substitution request is responsible for all financial obligations (any balance due) associated with the substitution. Badge sharing, splitting, and reprints are strictly prohibited. No refunds 30 days prior to the start of the class, unless extenuating circumstances (i.e. death, accident or serious illness).

CMAA is dedicated to providing a safe, hospitable, inclusive, and productive environment for all participants at CMAA Events. CMAA has established minimum expectations of behavior for participants at all CMAA events. Please review the policy. It is intended to supplement any other applicable CMAA policies, including the CMAA Code of Conduct and Ethics.
