Check Your Certification, Certification Maintenance Requirement, & Honor Society Progress Online

The steps below are a quick guide to check your certification credits in the new member portal online:

  1. Sign into the member portal of CMAA’s website.
  2. Once logged into your account, go to “My Account,” then “My Certification Credits.”
  3. Click on the “Print Transcript” button.
  4. Enter a date range for the credits. To ensure you are getting a list of all of your credits, it is suggested to enter “01/01/1900” as your begin date and the current date as the end date. You can leave the other criteria as “Please select.”
  5. A transcript of all your credits will come up. They will be separated by credit type then listed in date order within the credit types with the most recent credit listed first.

The steps below are a quick guide to checking your progress toward your Certification Maintenance Requirement:

  1. Sign into the member portal of CMAA’s Website.
  2. Once logged into your account, go to the “My Certifications” and click on “Certification Details.”
  3. Click on either the “CEU Credits – 120” link or “Total of credits hours and credit types combination needed for renewal.” Link (both will bring you to the same page).
  4. At the top of the page, you will see your CMR period (this will be a five-year range).  Further down the page, you will find the total of credits you earned in each of the credit areas during this CMR period. To satisfy the CMR, all the credits combined must equal a minimum of 120 credits. Within that 120, you must earn a minimum of 60 credits combined between Club Management Institute (CMI) and Chapter Education credits.

To check on your progress towards Honor Society, follow these steps:

  1. On your account page, go to the “My Open Applications” section and click on the “Continue Application” link on the “Honor Society” line.
  2. On the next page, click on the “CEU Credits – 400” link.
  3. This page will list the credit requirement for qualifying for Honor Society and it will list the total of credits you have earned in each of the credit areas since you earned your Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation. To qualify for Honor Society, all the credits combined must equal a minimum of 400 credits. Within that 400, you must earn 150 credits combined between CMI and Chapter Education credits. Keep in mind that you also must complete either Business Management Institute (BMI) Tactical Leadership or BMI Strategic Leadership and be a professional member for a minimum of 10 years.

CSFA Officially a CMAA Subsidiary
Club Spa and Fitness Assoc (CSFA) logoAs of November 1, the Club Spa and Fitness Association (CSFA) is an official subsidiary of CMAA! For the past year, CMAA has been managing CSFA and, in that time, we have learned a lot about the wellness sector of the club industry and the importance it plays in the overall success of the club operations.

Did you know? More than 61 percent of clubs offer spa and fitness amenities as a recreational opportunity for their members.

Moving forward, with CSFA being even more a part of who we are and what we do as an association, members of both organizations will benefit from the collaboration in many areas including research, professional development, education, and communication efforts.

For example, the recently-released 2018 Compensation & Benefits Report contains a standalone Club Spa and Fitness Report detailing this important segment of our member clubs; and, the upcoming 2019 BMI Sports & Recreation Management program has been curated along with CSFA members and staff.

While there is much more to come, one thing CMAA members can do now is get your spa and fitness staff involved in CSFA so we can keep growing our organizations together.

Did you know? Members who join CSFA now will not have to renew until December 31, 2019, thereby getting 14 months of membership for the price of 12! Find membership information for CSFA here.

Curt Kelley, CCM, General Manager of Preston Trail Golf Club in Dallas, TX, shared regarding the scholarship’s namesake: “I had the privilege of working for Sally at Lakewood Country Club in Dallas, TX. Of all her accomplishments throughout her 41-year career, Sally was most proud of the work/life balance that she was able to create. She was a proven and respected club manager while also being a wife and loving mother. The latter role extended well beyond her two biological sons to many of us in the industry today! Sally encouraged professionalism, continued education, giving back to community, and quality of life. I wish she was still here today because she was an extraordinary role model and mentor.”
