The Club Foundation at the Leadership/Legislative Conference

We recently had the opportunity to present a current overview of The Club Foundation (CF) for attendees at the Leadership/Legislative Conference. One of the most exciting parts of the presentation was sharing the growth CF has experienced over the past few years. In that time, CF has launched two new scholarship programs and restarted (or taken on) three existing ones:

  • Warren Arseneaux Honorary Scholarship: Originally established in 2007 by the CMAA Wine Society, this scholarship was added to The Foundation’s portfolio last year. While the application criteria remain the same, members of the Club Foundation Allocation Committee (CFAC) have joined the evaluation process. More details can be found on CMAA’s website.
  • The DeLozier Family Scholarship: Initiated in 2025 through generous support from the DeLozier Family, this new scholarship supports emerging leaders who are underrepresented in the club industry. The deadline for this inaugural year is October 1. Awardees can choose from a broad range of opportunities and are also offered career development and personalized career counseling provided by the DeLozier Group. You can donate directly to this scholarship on The Club Foundation’s website.
  • The John and Andrea Dorman Scholarship: Also initiated in 2025, thanks to the generosity of John and Andrea Dorman, this scholarship supports emerging leaders pursuing their CCM and not yet serving as General Managers, by covering the cost of one Business Management Institute (BMI). Although the deadline for this inaugural year was in September, you can get a head start on next year by reviewing the application and evaluation criteria.
  • Faculty Development and Immersion Program: This program has been reimagined and relaunched in a new format, with the application deadline in July. We’re excited about the refresh, supporting those amazing faculty members who help guide and teach so many up-and-coming club professionals. Learn more on the CMAA (and CF) websites.
  • Chapter Workshop Grant: After a hiatus, this program restarted in 2024. The next application deadline is December 15. The grant provides funds to support education at the Chapter level. CF is also proud to fund education grants in conjunction with awards like Chapter of the Year, New Member Recruitment, and Idea Fair. The Chapter Workshop Grant adds to that education support and awards are based on merit of the application. You can learn more and apply here.

In addition to all this program growth, CF has seen a 210 percent increase in applications for key scholarship programs over the last five years, and we expect to see these numbers increase again this year.

If you have questions regarding these programs or any other Foundation work, please complete our contact form or call us directly at 703-299-4284.
