2024 Chairman

Joe Mendez, CCM, CCE

Joe Mendez, CCM (Certified Club Manager), CCE (Certified Chief Executive), was elected the Chairman of the Club Management Association of America (CMAA) Board of Directors at its 2024 World Conference and Club Business Expo, held in Las Vegas, NV. Mendez was first elected to the Board of Directors in 2017. 

Mendez currently serves as the General Manager/COO at Doylestown Country Club in Doylestown, PA. Prior to accepting that role in May 2023, he served as the General Manager/COO of Riverton Country Club, Germantown Cricket Club, and Radley Run Country Club. He also served in three different positions including Assistant General Manager, Clubhouse Manager and Food & Beverage Director at Whitford Country Club in Exton, PA, from 2003-2006. He began his career in club management as the Dining Room Manager at The Union League of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, PA, in 2000.  

Mendez first joined CMAA as a Student member in 1998 while enrolled at Widener University. He joined as a Professional member in 2003. He has volunteered on many national committees including the Audit, Chapter/Member Services, Communications, Bylaws, Professional Development, and Premier Club Services Committees. Most recently, Mendez served as the Chair of the 2023 Strategic & Organizational Culture Committee. He will lead the Conference Committee this year.  

On the chapter level, Mendez has been active in multiple roles within the Philadelphia & Vicinity Chapter and the Philadelphia Club Foundation. He served as the Chairman of the National Student Education Conference in 2016, and as Co-Chairman of the event in 2010.  

Outside of CMAA, Mendez has been active with the Exton Region Chamber of Commerce, the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, and the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce. He has previously served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Delaware and Widener University.  

As CMAA Chairman, Mendez will lead the CMAA Board of Directors and work together with the membership, National Committees and Task Forces, Partners, and the National Headquarters team to advance the club management profession and the broader industry collaboratively.
