Chapter of the Year Winners Announced at Conference

Outstanding chapters were honored at CMAA’s World Conference & Club Business Expo in San Diego, CA. The Chapter of the Year (COY) award competition recognizes outstanding work, participation, and accomplishments by CMAA Chapters. Many chapters worked hard to fill the top spots, a fact that was reflected in the extremely close races in each of the chapter size categories. Top honors went to:

Small Chapters
First Place: Evergreen Chapter
Second Place: Tennessee Volunteer Chapter
Most Improved: Utah Chapter

Medium Chapters
First Place: Pittsburgh Chapter
Second Place: Upper Midwest Chapter
Most Improved: Virginias Chapter

Large Chapters
First Place: Connecticut Chapter
Second Place: Golden State Chapter
Most Improved: Metropolitan Chapter

Congratulations to these chapters on this time-honored achievement. To reward the winning chapters’ efforts, each first-place chapter is eligible to receive a $3,000 Education Grant, second-place chapters are eligible to receive $2,000 Education Grant, and Most Improved chapters are eligible to receive a $1,000 Education Grant, all sponsored by The Club Foundation.

Impressive accomplishments were abundant—all CMAA members should be proud of the level of excellence that exists within the Association’s chapter system. Thank you to Chapter of the Year Chairman Jim Reisig, CCM, and the panel of judges: Brian Donohoe, Kipp Johnson, CCM, Stephanie Morefield, Joseph Nicaj, and Tyler Zust.

Use the CMAA Job Boards to Advertise Club Opportunities

If your member clubs have open positions, take a look at what CMAA's website has to offer: Four job boards, encompassing all levels of positions within a club.

  • Internships: Generally seasonal, the boards are currently bustling. Add one or more opportunities at a club. This listing is free and runs for 12 weeks.
  • Entry-Level Jobs: Hourly jobs in all departments of a club. This listing is free and runs for six weeks.
  • Mid-Management Job Ops: Across the breadth of a club, those positions that help staff to gain experience. This listing is open to all and has associated fees to post for six weeks.
  • Managerial Openings List: Top tier positions on a member-only page. List where your job will be seen! Member login required, has associated fees and runs for six weeks.

If you have questions about any of these listing opportunities, contact Karen Woodie.

Share Your Favorite Speakers for Conference

Have you had a new speaker present for your chapter lately who you think would make a great Conference speaker? If so, please forward the speaker’s name and email address to David McCabe and he will ensure that they receive information on how to submit a proposal.

Your World Conference Feedback Is Requested

Thank you to all who attended this year’s World Conference and Club Business Expo. Please share your thoughts on the World Conference so we can ensure that this event meets your needs. Your time is valuable so this survey is short and should take no more than five minutes to complete. On behalf of the CMAA Board of Directors and team, we are so glad you could be with us in San Diego and greatly appreciate your feedback.
