Idea Fair

One Night in Paris

Description

The Peninsula Club’s 2019 Holiday Gala was a completely different experience then our members and staff have had in the past. The idea was to change the normal tone that is set for our Holiday Gala, which usually has something to do with a winter theme. We wanted to take the largest event of the year to the next level by creating our own grand decor, customizing menus entirely and establishing an authentic French atmosphere. The goal was to WOW our membership not only with the atmosphere we created but by also going the extra mile in service. It enhanced our club’s operation because all staff took such pride in what they did and it was so well received by the members.

Implementation

Several departments within the club had a hand in making the dream of ‘One Night in Paris’ happen. 90% of the décor was completely done in house by the talented staff that works at the Peninsula Club. From hanging multicolored umbrellas from the ceiling of our entry way, to painting realistic storefront backdrops complete with market lighting. Our goal was to transport our membership to the streets of Paris and create an authentic experience. With this, we included an acrobat to tie in the authenticity of street performers. The idea of doing all décor in house allowed our staff to use their creativity, push limitations and have a sense of pride in what they created. For our membership, the were so proud and astonished by the sheer ability of our in-house talents. They loved the event, the completely customized menu and the attention to detail that was delivered.
