TopHat is the textbook distributor, and you will need to create a new account on their site to purchase and access the textbook. Please be sure to register as a “Student” when creating your account. A one-time payment of $85 provides continued access to the textbook through your online TopHat account, including automatic access to all future updates and new editions at no additional cost.

The Fourth Edition is being released in phases, with revised chapters replacing previous versions as they are finalized. All content aligns with CMAA certification standards, and members preparing for the Certified Club Manager (CCM) exam will be notified of any relevant updates.

No. The textbook is hosted on TopHat, which requires a separate account. You will need to create a TopHat login to access your course materials.

No. The textbook is available to anyone at the same price. You do not need to be a CMAA Student Member to purchase it, and the $85 price applies to all users.

No. Once you purchase the textbook, you will retain access and can use it across multiple courses if applicable.

TopHat offers a 14-day free trial period from the time a student enrolls in a course. During this period, students can access the platform without being charged. If a student remains enrolled after the 14-day trial, the charge is applied and refunds are generally not issued. In exceptional cases, students may contact TopHat support directly to request an individual review.

The Fourth Edition is being released in phases. As updated chapters are completed, they are added to the platform. This means you may see a mix of newly updated content and previous edition material during the transition period.

Your instructor will provide a course join code or a direct link to join the course in TopHat. Be sure to use the same email you used to purchase the textbook.

If you already have a TopHat account, simply log in and access the textbook or join your course using your instructor’s join code.

The textbook is delivered in a digital format. A print version may be available in the future, but it is not currently offered.
