Congratulations to our graduating seniors! Have you secured a management position in the club industry? If so, it’s time to join CMAA as an Alumnus member.

Simply log into your CMAA account and join as an Alumnus member. Once the process is complete and your join date is established, your Alumnus years (you are eligible for the status for two years) count towards your six Professional years needed to be eligible to sit for the Certified Club Manager exam. Alumnus status is a Professional classification, the only difference is that you receive a dues break for the first two years of your membership, at which point you automatically change to a Professional member.

Congratulations once again! Please contact Erica Benjamin with any questions about joining as an Alumnus member.

Today is the Last Chance to Complete the 2024/2025 Cybersecurity in Club Leadership Survey

To enhance our understanding of cybersecurity trends affecting our industry, Pulsar Security invites you to contribute to our 2024/2025 Cybersecurity in Club Leadership Survey. This effort, undertaken in collaboration with CMAA Partner Pulsar Security, aims to deliver an up-to-date examination of the critical cybersecurity challenges and priorities facing club leaders today.

The survey will require approximately 15 minutes to complete, focusing on key areas such as:

  • Cybersecurity practices in club operations
  • Strategic cybersecurity planning
  • Insights into cybersecurity management

In appreciation of your participation, club leaders will be offered an exclusive opportunity to join a tailored webinar. Rest assured, your responses will remain confidential; only aggregated trends and summary data will be published in our report.

Win $100 Amazon Gift Card: Participate in the Club Employee Demographic Assessment

Club Employee Demographic Assessment

The Club Management Association of America designed the Club Employee Demographic Assessment (CEDA) to help evaluate the degree to which your club follows leading practices in diversity and inclusion throughout your workforce. CEDA represents a comprehensive and confidential tool for clubs to assess and benchmark themselves against other clubs. The Club Foundation and CMAA have collaborated on a survey that will provide valuable information on the second year of a journey toward understanding the demographics related to the private club employees. This survey takes about 10-15 minutes and only needs one submission per club. Find out more information about the project and to participate.

To encourage participation, we are offering a $100 Amazon gift card to 10 clubs that complete our survey by May 24. Ten clubs will be selected randomly after the deadline and the gift cards will be delivered via email. To be eligible for the gift card drawing, your club must complete all the necessary sections. If selected, your club will be emailed the $100 Amazon eGift card code that can be used towards your staff.

Diversity in the workplace means employing people of different ages, genders, ethnicities, sexual orientations, cultural backgrounds, and education levels. Through the four components of CEDA (Workplace, Workforce, Marketplace, Supplier & Community), we hope to help each club identify their own areas of improvement, build, and update practices, and implement positive changes in their day-to-day operations.

Please take a moment to participate and help your club take steps toward adding value to your staff. Questions? Contact Amilcar Davy, Director, Research Initiatives.

National Golf Day is May 9

The American Golf Industry Coalition (AGIC), comprised of the leading voices in golf, is hosting its 16th annual National Golf Day on May 9, with events kicking off the afternoon prior and concluding with collaborative community service projects on May 10. National Golf Day brings together industry associations, partners, and leaders in the nation’s capital to celebrate the many ways in which the sport and industry positively impact the economy, people, communities and charities.

During the three-day event, a host of representatives from all corners of the industry will converge on Capitol Hill to discuss key issues affecting the golf industry with policymakers. Just last year, the Coalition released a national Economic Impact Study, which shows golf’s growth in popularity as a recreational activity with roughly 1 in 7 people participating and a $102 billion direct economic impact in 2022, an increase of 20% over its $84 billion direct impact in 2016.

CMAA's Advocacy Committee will be in attendance to advocate for our industry.

Stay tuned for a special edition of the Legislative Report! We need your virtual support to make sure we reach legislators in all 50 states!

For more information on the schedule of activities or the economic impact of the golf industry, visit golfcoalition.org.
