Did You Know?

The city of Detroit and the state of Michigan have a special connection to CMAA’s history.

  • The Hotel Statler in Detroit, MI, was the site of the second annual CMAA Convention in 1928. The city was the host city again in 1940, 1949, and 1966.
  • In 1929, CMAA leadership revoked the original constitution and bylaws enacted in Illinois and incorporated the association in the state of Michigan. That charter is still in effect today.
