Education FAQ: Association Activity Credits

What are Association Activity (AA) credits?

Association Activity credits are awarded to members for their on-going participation in the Association.

How do you earn AA credits?

You can earn AA credits through the following:

  • Renewing CMAA membership dues
  • Serving as a National, Regional, or Chapter Officer
  • Serving on a National committee
  • Renewing Wine Society membership dues
  • Conference registration
  • World Conference
  • Mid-Management Conference
  • Legislative Leadership Conference
  • Submitting an entry for and/or winning Idea Fair
  • Speaking on Club Management
  • Publishing an industry article
  • Attending chapter business meetings
  • Attending a live webinar at the National or Chapter level
  • Mentoring in the MID program

What do AA credits mean for pre-certification members?

One of the eligibility requirements to sit for Certified Club Manager (CCM) exam is for the member to earn a minimum of 50 AA credits. Typically, this is the more challenging eligibility requirement to meet for those members working towards certification.

What do AA credits mean for post-certification members?

Members who have earned their CCM and want to keep it current must meet the Certification Maintenance Requirement. This requires them to earn 120 credits during the five-year period. 60 of those credits must be earned through CMI and/or chapter education. The other 60 credits can be earned through AA credits as well as other categories.

Membership and Member Benefits

Deadline Approaching: Enter the 2024 Idea Fair

The Idea Fair will be held at the 2024 World Conference & Club Business Expo, March 4-8. Since the sharing of knowledge has always been the hallmark of CMAA, the Idea Fair is a great avenue for club managers to exchange ideas. The deadline is February 5, so make sure you get your entries in. There’s no time to waste!

Each CMAA member is encouraged to enter – you do not need to attend Conference to enter or win. Regardless, appropriate recognition and two Association Activity Credits will be awarded to the winner in each of the 22 categories. Association Activity Credits will also be awarded to all members who enter.

You will submit your entries online and CMAA will print the board(s) for you! You will not be printing and shipping or hand carrying your entries like in past years.

In addition to the “Most Innovative Idea Award,” there will be a “Showstopper Award” and a “Chairman’s Award” given out by the judging committee. Make sure your idea stands out from the rest to be considered for these exciting new awards!

Read more details on how to enter, as well as category information and to access the official online entry form.

We look forward to seeing your ideas in Las Vegas!

Join us at the Awards Breakfast at World Conference

During the annual Awards Breakfast, The Club Foundation will celebrate those who received scholarships in 2023. The scholarships awarded on the morning of March 6 are at the core of The Club Foundation’s mission: to financially support the club management profession through education, research, and outreach initiatives. Because these scholarships are competitive and awarded based on merit of the application, those recognized represent our industry's brightest and strongest members. Add the Awards Breakfast to your registration if you haven’t already registered to join the celebration! The Club Foundation proudly supports this annual celebration.

Signature Events

To help us raise the funds needed for scholarships and grants, The Club Foundation is responsible for two key events: the Golf Tournament and the ClubLove 5K.

The Golf Tournament will take place on the afternoon of March 3, at Bear’s Best Las Vegas. We are pleased to share that the tournament is sold out!

The ClubLove 5K takes place on the morning of March 7 and is a longstanding tradition during the World Conference. The 5K runs (or walks) along the infamous Las Vegas Strip.
