Save the Date for Giving Tuesday 2022

Each year, Americans across the country participate in Giving Tuesday. This one-day giving sprint raised more than $2.5 billion in 2020 to support nonprofit organizations. This year, Giving Tuesday is on November 29 and donations made to The Club Foundation during the event will directly support robust scholarship programming, furthering the success of the club industry by funding tuition and expenses for the brightest emerging and seasoned club professionals. We will share more information in the coming weeks; in the meantime, text TUESDAY to 91999 to stay informed about Giving Tuesday or to donate now.

Did You Know: There Are Two More Scholarship Deadlines This Year

Two scholarships are due November 1. Mark your calendars and get your applications submitted:

  • Willmoore H. Kendall Scholarship
One of the most sought-after scholarships through The Club Foundation is the Willmoore H. Kendall Scholarship. The scholarship is open to members pursuing their certification, and covers participation in Business Management Institutes, certification exam prep, and exam fees, and is named in honor of Willmoore “Bill” Kendall, CCM, past president of CMAA (1998).
  • LaRocca Family Executive Scholarship
Tapping into the strong tradition and culture of the Club Industry, the LaRocca Family Executive Scholarship funds professional development for a seasoned leader and their mentee. Joe McGuire, CCM, CCE, a 2021 LaRocca Scholarship recipient says, “providing guidance to the next generation of club leadership is rewarding, and the recognition of success from the Club Foundation is a humbling accolade. Because of the LaRocca Family Scholarship, my mentee was able to attend her first World Conference this year in San Diego and it was great to see her thriving in the conference environment.”

Find out more about these scholarships by visiting our website at clubfoundation.org. If you have any questions about this program or any other programs of The Club Foundation, please contact us.

Complete the 2022 CMAA Compensation and Benefits Survey

For those that have not yet completed the survey, CMAA would like to remind you to participate in the 2022 CMAA Compensation and Benefits Survey. In order to build off of CMAA's strategic plan and maintain the confidentiality of the data, CMAA again has contracted Industry Insights (an objective, independent, third-party research company) to collect and compile the results. Industry Insights has more than 35 years of experience in conducting confidential, compensation and benefits studies of this nature.

To allow for easy survey completion as well as customized reporting tools for you and your staff, the study is hosted and maintained by Industry Insights on the CMAA Research Portal.

As a participant, you will receive a complimentary copy of the industry report plus a customized Club Compensation Report, with your own club’s compensation figures reported alongside the appropriate industry comparatives. Club Resource Center subscribers, who participate in the survey, will also receive access to an online portal for interactive industry comparatives.

As an additional benefit of participation, participating clubs will receive a chapter level report if their chapter has a participation level of at least 10 clubs and a 20 percent chapter participation rate.

The deadline for participation is October 28. If you have any questions, please contact Patti Clever at 614-389-2100 ext. 111 or Amilcar Davy, CMAA's Director of Research, at 703-739-9500.
