Jeff Havens is the only business growth expert who provides serious solutions in a seriously funny way. He has an uncanny ability to provide actionable answers to today’s business challenges in a way that is undeniably entertaining and impactful. But even more than that, Jeff has a unique ability to simplify seemingly complex problems, providing you with a fresh perspective, one that runs counter to the conventional wisdom of the business world. He’ll show you that we’re not actually creating a completely new type of person every 15 years, that being innovative is not something only a few special people know how to do, and that both exceptional leadership and exceptional customer experiences are built on surprisingly slender foundations. You will leave Jeff’s keynotes refreshed, relaxed, happy, and more confident than ever that you are prepared for the road ahead.

Presented in Partnership with Club Car, a CMAA Business Partner
Honor the achievements of CMAA Members and Chapters at the Awards Breakfast, which celebrates and recognizes the individuals and Chapters who strive to make a difference in the CMAA community. Awards will be presented to:

  • the 2021 Club Executive of the Year;
  • new inductees to the 25-Year Club;
  • The Club Foundation’s 2021 Willmoore H. Kendall scholarship recipients;
  • the Idea Fair, which showcases the best club-tested ideas submitted by CMAA member-managed clubs;
  • Student Chapter award winners;
  • top Chapter earners in the New Member Recruitment Contest; and
  • the coveted Chapter of the Year Award

After the awards presentations, hear from basketball legend and one of sports’ most recognizable and beloved figures, Bill Walton. His success on the court is well-documented: the nation’s top college basketball star at UCLA under legendary coach John Wooden, he then played for two NBA Championship teams – the Portland Trail Blazers and Boston Celtics. But Bill’s nightmarish challenges off the court are less known. He stuttered so badly he couldn’t say a simple “thank you” until he was 28 years old. And a foot disorder led to 39 surgeries on his feet, legs, and back – keeping him sidelined over half of his NBA career. Armed with grit and a positive outlook, Bill improbably overcame it all. Don’t miss hearing Bill Walton’s one-of-a-kind presentation.

*Please note: A ticket is required for entry to this event. This event is ticketed separately from all-inclusive registration categories (Full, Education-Only) and capacity is limited to 700 attendees.

The Club Business Expo is one of the hospitality industry’s fastest growing shows. This two-day show provides an opportunity to explore products and services offered by more than 270 companies showcasing industry leading trends and innovations. Nearly every product and service that a club management professional could purchase for his or her club is showcased in the Expo. Meet face-to-face to discuss potential purchases.

This job-fair and networking forum is the place where students and managers can gather to discuss employment and internship opportunities as well as network and discuss goals and mentorship. Even if you do not have a current job opening at your club, managers looking to make an impact on the future leaders in the industry should plan to attend this event.

Stay fit before and during the Conference by signing up for the virtual and in-person Club Love Fun Run-Walk. This year’s Run-Walk travels a gorgeous 5K stretch along the San Diego waterfront, arguably one of the most beautiful settings in California. The Club Love Fun Run/Walk raises critical funds to get our club colleagues to the finish line of reaching their professional education goals. Virtual participation begins when conference registration opens and the live run/walk takes place before sessions on Tuesday morning.

Proceeds benefit The Club Foundation scholarships and grants for CMAA members, students, faculty, Chapters, and the club industry.

Join your colleagues for the final session featuring keynote speaker Dustin Garis as well as the Association awards presentations. Session highlights will include the Board of Director and Bylaws election results; the farewell address from outgoing CMAA Chairman Brian Kroh, CCM; and a preview of the 2023 World Conference and Club Business Expo in Orlando, FL.

Throughout his disruptive career at some of the world’s most respected companies, The Coca-Cola Company and Procter & Gamble, Dustin Garis has become known as “Chief Troublemaker” for his innovative approach to brand-building, customer experience, and change leadership. Garis brings the same no-holds-barred approach to his keynotes that helped him blaze trails in the world’s largest companies and entrepreneurial startups. His deep insights and charismatic persona will captivate you while inspiring you to consider how your club can embark on the next frontier of innovation—whether he’s break-dancing on stage or blowing wide open the rise of the “experience economy” with anecdotes and visuals. With a particular focus on how brands can enrich lives, Garis offers examples of brands that are getting it right by “revolting against routine,” and creating memorable experiences to drive engagement among Millennial consumers and employees.
