Become a Member of CMAA’s Honor Society

If you have completed your Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation, why not take things to the next level by joining CMAA’s elite group of Honor Society members?

CMAA’s Honor Society is open to all managers who have achieved their CCM designation. In addition to earning your CCM, members must earn 400 credits beyond certification with a minimum of 150 of those credits being CMAA Education (CMI and Chapter Education). You also need to be an active member of CMAA for a minimum of nine years and have successfully completed either Business Management Institute (BMI) Tactical Leadership or BMI Strategic Leadership course.

Call to Serve: CMAA Board of Directors

CMAA is currently receiving nominations for those interested in running for the National Board of Directors, 2023 term year start. Professional members (with at least 10 years of CMAA membership) – now is your chance to help lead the Association dedicated to furthering the club management profession.

The benefits are many:

  • A role in advancing the club management profession.
  • An opportunity to enhance the value of CMAA to the industry.
  • A part in directing information about the challenges facing club management professionals.
  • A chance to exchange ideas and perspectives with other volunteer leaders.

CMAA’s Nominating Committee has identified qualifications criteria as well as several desired attributes that are part of the selection process for new and incumbent Board members. Interested members should consult the Board Service page for specific information or contact Kim Pasquale with any questions. Board nominations are due no later than May 31, 2022. All required candidate documentation is due by June 30, 2022. Thank you.

Note Upcoming Scholarship Deadlines – Don’t Leave Money on The Table

Scholarship season begins at The Club Foundation later this spring with the first deadline just two months away. Here is a list of the deadlines for 2022 applications:

  • June 1 – Joe Perdue Scholarship – Provides tuition dollars for undergraduate students.
  • June 1 – Student Chapter Grant – Provides travel dollars for student chapters.
  • September 1 – Sally Burns Rambo Scholarship – Provides tuition and travel dollars for female club professionals.
  • October 1 (please note the deadline change!) – James Singerling Scholarship – Provides registration and travel dollars for first-time World Conference attendees.
  • November 1 – Willmoore H. Kendall Scholarship – Provides tuition dollars for all/any BMIs for club professionals.
  • November 1 – LaRocca Family Executive Scholarship – Provides tuition, travel, registration dollars for club mentor-mentee pairs.

If you’re a student member graduating in May, you are eligible to receive a CMAA stole! Please contact Christina Krueger with the address you’d like your stole sent to. We’ll be sending them out in the beginning of April.

The Student Recruitment Contest ends April 30! You have one more month to reach your Chapter’s 2021-2022 recruitment goals. Winning first and second place for this contest can win your chapter a registration grant for either the National Student Education Conference or World Conference!

Registration Ending for 2022 Virtual National Golf Day

Join CMAA’s Advocacy Committee and Legislative Chairmen in this important opportunity to make your voice heard on issues impacting our industry. National Golf Day serves as the pinnacle advocacy event of the year for the American Golf Industry Coalition, formerly known as We Are Golf. As a coalition of golf industry leaders, National Golf Day will celebrate its 14th annual event on May 10-11.

The virtual event will begin with a 90-minute Virtual Industry Roundtable and Legislative Training on May 10 at 1:00 p.m. EDT. On May 11, advocates will participate in more than 200 legislative meetings with Members of Congress. There is no cost to participate in this virtual event.
